An author herself, April loves assisting others through the book-making process. At SFK Press, she works closely with writers to prepare their manuscripts for publication, from substantive revisions to conceptualizing cover designs to setting up author platforms and purchasing ISBNs. She manages production schedules and liaisons with designers, printers, and distributors, ensuring that SFK’s communications and marketing divisions have everything they need to support and promote SFK authors to the fullest.
Nicole Byrne is a queer poet based in Portland, Maine. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from Wichita State University, where she was the first two-time recipient of the Stephen C. Barr Endowed Fellowship in Creative Writing. Her work has appeared in Split Lip Magazine, Red Earth Review, Emrys Journal, The Rush, Bright Sleep Magazine, and Spy Kids Review, among others. Alison is a musician and sound engineer, currently studying to become an entertainment attorney. She has a deep appreciation for the arts and creativity, and a driving desire to help artists pursue and achieve their creative goals. Within Southern Fried Karma, she assists writers and visual artists through the legal processes of publication in The New Southern Fugitives zine, and produces audio books for SFK Press titles. In whatever work she does, Alison always has the same goal in mind: To spread the gift of creativity.
