APRIL FORD: Associate Publisher
An author herself, April loves assisting others through the book-making process. At SFK Press, she works closely with writers to prepare their manuscripts for publication, from substantive revisions to conceptualizing cover designs to setting up author platforms and purchasing ISBNs. She manages production schedules and liaisons with designers, printers, and distributors, ensuring that SFK’s marketing and media divisions have everything they need to support and promote SFK authors to the fullest.
GISELE FIRMINO: Marketing
A Brazilian native and an author herself, Gisele Firmino earned a BA from Pepperdine University and an MFA in Fiction from Queens University of Charlotte. Aside from her helping SFK authors reach as many readers as possible, Gisele also serves as the Program Coordinator for Queens University of Charlotte’s MFA in Creative Writing, as well as the Managing Editor for Qu: a literary magazine.
KELSEY ASHER: Social Media Coordinator
A creative writer and marketer, Kelsey Asher graduated with a Bachelor’s in Mass Communication from University of West Georgia (Go Wolves!). She has held a variety of marketing leadership positions, and her ability to bring a unique, content-forward perspective to the companies she dedicates her skills to is a source of pride. Kelsey returns to SFK Press after heading content strategy at Aubrey Silvey Enterprises Inc. and iTrust Home Services. She loves working for SFK Press because she has the freedom to create and innovate while using good business sense to promote artists.
ALISON McCONDICHIE: Audio Book Producer

Alison is a musician and sound engineer, currently studying to become an entertainment attorney. She has a deep appreciation for the arts and creativity, and a driving desire to help artists pursue and achieve their creative goals. Within Southern Fried Karma, she assists writers and visual artists through the legal processes of publication in The New Southern Fugitives zine, and produces audio books for SFK Press titles. In whatever work she does, Alison always has the same goal in mind: To spread the gift of creativity.
HAYLEY SWINSON: Copy-Editor
In 2014, Hayley earned a MSc in Prose Writing from the University of Edinburgh, where she pursued her interest in travel writing and was selected to read her short story “Inheritance” at the Edinburgh City of Literature’s Story Shop at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. Now that she’s back in the States, she publishes regularly with local magazines and blogs and has recently completed her MFA in Fiction. Her thesis manuscript is a novel about a young family in coastal North Carolina who experience significant tragedy. In her free time, she enjoys being active and learning about gardening.
